We are excited to share an amazing opportunity with you!
In 2005, Nia Technique supported a wonderful charity called Soaringwords, by becoming a National Community Partner in the nationwide Make A Difference Day event. Many of you joined in, using the power of Nia to help raise funds for healing. This year, we are pleased to renew our collaboration with Soaringwords, a charity dedicated to inspiring millions of hospitalized children and their families to “Never give up!”
What is Soaringwords?
Founded in 2001 by Nia White Belt Lisa Buksbaum, Soaringwords uses the power of the internet, supported by hands-on community service programs, to help hospitalized children and their families cope with catastrophic, chronic or terminal illness. In the 2005, Nia Teachers like you led 15 “Nia Dance Jam and Decorate to Heal” events around the country and decorated hundreds of SoaringQuilts® and SoaringPillows®, which were donated to hospitalized children.
We have again chosen to support Soaringwords as our charity of choice for 2009, because like Nia:
- Soaringwords is a charity of The Body’s Way, using the hearts, minds, bodies and spirits of people to help others in need feel better – self-healing at its best!
- Soaringwords offers an entirely new kind of healing program.
- Soaringwords does not focus on a single illness, to the exclusion of others.
- In supporting Soaringwords, Nia Teachers have a unique opportunity to connect with new audiences, gaining broad exposure while changing the lives of all those they touch – both directly and indirectly.
We invite you to join us and find out about all the fun ways you can get involved. The grand finale of our collective efforts this year will be the “Make a Difference Day 2009” event on Saturday, October 24th, which will include “The World’s Largest (Nia) Dance Jam” in Times Square, New York City!
