“It has been about a year and a half since I began yoga classes with Denis. I have never felt better. She seems to be able to target the areas of need with ease. Denis has a real passion for what she does and it shows. I have attended other yoga classes in the past and no one comes close to Denis. My favourite part of her sessions is when she helps me with my stretches/positions. It is as if she knows exactly where my body needs to go.”
“I have also attended some of Denis’ Nia classes. Denis makes it fun and to seem effortless especially with the uplifting music she chooses. I would recommend any of her classes to anyone as she is easily able to tailor them to suit anyone’s needs. But please Denis save one spot for me!!”

“I highly recommend the Yoga for Runners class. I started running fairly late in life, at 47. I love running and I love racing. When I turned 49, as a challenge, I ran ten 1/2 marathons in 10 weeks. I was 50 when I ran my first marathon. In the following 18 months, I ran 5 marathons, including Boston and New York City (2008). For the last two years I constantly felt “off balance” (recurring sore right knee, recurring sore left Achilles). I started the Yoga for Runners class in September 2009. The Yoga for Runners class has improved my flexibility and range of motion (Achilles tendon) and has started to strengthen and restore my muscle balance. Yoga is much more of a workout than I ever anticipated. After the first class, I felt I had run a 1/2 marathon. I think that the class would be good for non-runners too and I look forward to the 2010 season, for both running and yoga.”

Nia has the power to change that! Through movement we find Health.
Watch this video clip of Jenn Hick’s Nia Demo that we did on Saturday, April 26th, 2009.
Jenn Hicks did a wonderful job of leading us during Toronto’s International Dance Day. We performed at Yonge and Dundas Square to an amazing crowd. It was a cold and blustery day, but we warmed the crowd up by inviting them to come up on stage to find the Joy of Movement. Were you there? Can you find yourself up on stage or in the crowd?
Nia is exercise in disguise. Those who participated in the Demo said they has so much fun that they forgot that they were actually doing exercise. Nia is holistic and has the potential to transform your Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spirit realms. The movement forms in a Nia class are influenced by Martial Arts, Dance Arts and Healing Arts. As teachers we guide you through sensations in the body, imagery created in your mind and feelings drawn from your emotional history. This is all blended perfectly with music which brings about sheer magic. If you haven’t tried a class, this is definitely something to put on your “TO DO LIST – Take a Nia class with a friend”
