NEW BUILD DATE offered to "Team Nia"

Posted: Jul 21, 09:15 AM

Our build date had to be delayed.

This was the message sent from Habitat for Humanity Halton: “As occasionally happens with building projects, an unexpected situation has emerged at our Georgetown build. While excavating for our homes we have run into an unexpected situation. Our engineers have advised us that the soil on site has no bearing capacity therefore requiring an engineered solution for our foundations before we can start building. This has resulted in a delay in our schedule.”

“Team Nia” will now have their Adopt-A-Day on TUESDAY, AUGUST 26TH.

Due to the fact that our new date is in the middle of the work week, we are now in need of more volunteers. You are not required to be a Nia dancer. Everyone is welcome to help out. No building experience is neccessary. Just jump on board with “Team Nia”. The physical action of volunteering on an Adopt-A-Day will result in building affordable housing, yet it is impossible to measure what happens within each volunteer builder and then how that transcends into the community.

HfHH and Nia make a great team and we look forward to sharing our energy with the three families that will be supported with this build. The cost and funding required to build the 3 homes is $600,000.00. Please support OUR Adopt-A-Day. “Team Nia” plans to raise as much money as possible and your support is needed. We are still looking for volunteer builders to join “Team Nia”. It’s always the right time to Pay FORWARD and find the rewards of this type of energy exchange.
