Just got finished the teleseminar with David Meerman Scott.
In a nutshell, it was great and exciting for me. Knowing that little ol me could make a huge difference in Nia awareness on the internet.
I will share a synapses from what I was able to scribble down:
This teleseminar was for Nia teachers worldwide and was based on “The New Rules of Marketing and PR”. But the ideas can be used by anyone for anything. This is the book recommended by Jeff Stewart, CEO of Nia Technique for all Nia teachers to read.
The seminar started with David asking four simple questions about how we obtained information, either personally or for business, in the past 1-2 months:
1. Have you participated in answering a direct mailing?
2. Have you pulled out the printed Yellow Pages?
3. Have you gone to the main stream media such as magazines, newspapers, TV etc?
4. Have you used something like Google search engine?
David predicts that most will answer NO to the first two questions. That 1/3 will say yes to #3. And that 100% would answer yes to #4.
His next question was, Have you tapped into your personal network or contacts (such as email or phoned family or friends) to inquire about a product and were provided with a web address? David predicts that 90% of us would say YES.
What does this mean? The way problems are solved or researched in today’s day and age, is through the INTERNET. In other words BE ON THE INTERNET.
David gave an example of Cindy Gordon who was to market the NEW Wizarding World of Harry Potter @ Universal Orlando Resorts. Cindy pitched to ONLY 7 Harry Potter bloggers and within 24 hours 350 million people had now read about the new theme park.
David stressed that we need to get the ATTENTION from the people who our product serves. Traditionally there are three main ways to do this:OR to use Social Media, which he referred to a WORD OF MOUSE. To do this we need to create something on line to bring about interest in Nia. He gave us some great ideas how we can easily do this even if we do not have a website. The first step is to identify the different Nia Buyer Personae. What problems do my buyer personae need solved. What do we want our personae to BELIEVE.
The question and answer portion had questions coming from USA, Netherlands, New Zealand, and from CANADA (my question was aired, Yeah!)
Things to do before the next teleseminar:
to purchase THE NEW RULES OF MARKETING AND PR By David Meerman Scott
Read some great blogs:
If you do not have a website, David suggested searching for local chat rooms where ONLINE, you can write about a (Nia) story that could strike a chord with ONE of the personae you identified.
If anyone else was on the call please feel free to add, correct or support my synapses.
I would highly recommend purchasing the book.
