The family is starting to have a brighter outlook on their future. This single mother of three currently lives in a small, two bedroom, basement apartment where the two boys, Kyle, age three, and Joshua, age two, share a room together.
Renee has great support from family and friends as her father and sister have begun volunteering in the Habitat ReStore in Brampton to help with the “sweat equity”.
The timing of the new home couldn’t be better as her 17 year old son Cody will love with her when he goes to post-secondary school in Toronto – something she and Cody are very excited about.
One of the things Renee is most excited about her new home is that the plans for the house will be similar to the one she grew up in living in Timmins. She eagerly anticipates painting, decorating and making curtains for their new home.
Although the boys will continue to share a room in their new home, they will at least have a door that shuts properly. Renee will have a laundry room that does not flood, and the family won’t have to worry id the upstairs tenant has gone away for the weekend and left the heat off – leaving Renee and the boys with a very cold apartment. Most importantly, they will have a safe home!
