We are proud to announce that Nia is an “Electric Slide” Sponsor for the third annual New York Dance Parade. Over 110 Nia dancers are already signed up to dance down Broadway, on and around the Nia float! I can’t believe I am a part of something so awesome!
Together we will shimmy our way to DanceFest in Tompkins Square Park, where workshops, performances, Nia demos and classes are just the tip of the iceberg. Debbie Rosas will be leading a Nia demonstration onstage, along with Nia communities from all over, even on crazy CanadiaNIAs. Sign up and join us for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration!
1. Sign up (free) to dance with Nia in the parade
2. Volunteer to help with the event by contacting Kristin DeGroat at Kristin@danceparade.org
3. Create a Nia Field Trip with your friends to dance, tour the city and play with other Nia Teachers and students from around the world!
I’m so excited that 5 brave Canadian Nia teachers will join me as I venture down to New York , New York for the Dance Parade. Shelley Farrow, Jenn Hicks, Marla Gold, Brigita Roube and Didi Wilson will be my traveling buddies. My cousin, Krista Saab has offered up her home which is just 15 minutes from the start of the parade route. We will be dancing our CanadiaNia Pride in honor of all our beautiful fellow teachers. Who Rocks? Nia Rocks EH!
Dancing, dancing and more dancing! Debbie Rosas will lead a 30-minute, participatory Nia demo on the Dance Floor stage, and Kevin VerEecke will be featuring a short Nia performance on the main stage. Exact times TBD.
