Tere Lopez - Bio

Tere first discovered Yoga in 2002 through books from different styles such as Iyengar, Ashtanga and Sivananda Vedanta. Her personal practice led her to visit different studios in the GTA- Esther Myers, Downward Dog, 5 Elements, Sivananda Vedanta Centre, etc. Widening the practice to Conferences stage-Yoga Journal Conference, Ester Park and Yoga, The Conference and Show, Toronto (2006, 2008)- allowed her to discover her passion in a deeper path and became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance Registration at 200 hrs.
She did her training at 5 Elements Yoga–Pilates in Brampton with Michelle Cormack, and specializes in Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
Tere has had the opportunity to be in all-day intensives and workshops with Shiva Rea, Rodney Yee, Natasha Rizopoulos, Sean Corn, Desiree Rumbaugh, Hart Lazer and many other leaders in the Yoga Worldwide.
She got her Bachelor in Psychology in 1990 and has worked in Counselling and Meditation in Havana and Toronto. Passionate about helping others, she is using Yoga as a tool to make body-mind connection at a higher level.
She also works as Assured Assistance Agent in a 24 hour emergency medical insurance line assisting travelers that require medical treatment.
Tere currently teaches yoga in Terra Karda Studio (Georgetown), Supta Surya (Bolton) and for the City of Brampton. She lives and raises her two children in Brampton and is constantly seeking knowledge in many areas related to Yoga, Psychology and Languages. Her next journey will be the Yoga Trance Dance Teacher Training with Shiva Rea in Kripalu, Massachusetts, October 2008.
She enjoys tennis, biking, swimming and writing.
