Ankur comes from the land where yoga originated more than 5000 years ago. Yoga became her passion when she was introduced, by her grandmother, to a renowned school of yoga in India,. That awakening turned into her curiosity towards personal fitness and wellness. Practicing yoga with that charitable school for more than 5 years gave her the exposure of teaching yoga and meditation as well as at some other fitness organizations.
Immigrating to Canada was a major decision but regular practice had to keep going at home till she decided to up grade herself as per North American standards. After taking her registered Yoga Teacher Training from 5 Elements under the direction of Michelle Cormack, she adapted to the Vinyasa flow style and became registered with Yoga Alliance. Her instructions are based on aspects that includes asanas, pranayama, and meditation and on the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya: “it is not that the person needs to accommodate him or herself to yoga, but rather the yoga practice must be tailored to fit each person. As yoga is not fixed, Yoga is creation.”
Ankur looks forward to enriching her yoga knowledge throughout her lifetime, both by means of further teacher training programs and from individuals around her everyday. She dedicates her learning and her practice to her guru- The guru helps you find your own dharma (way).
